Life begins at Halcyon

Halcyon Corporate Newsletter

Spring is in the air!

In this edition of the Halcyon Days it was all about fun, fitness and friendship and what fun we have!

One thing is for sure, Halcyon communities are nothing like a retirement village and in our first story we look at the differences between retirement villages and manufactured homes communities. In the very beginning, at Halcyon we determined that the Manufactured Homes Act is more relevant to the modern day retiree who is active and living longer, which describes our home owners best!

It’s exciting times on the Sunshine Coast, with the opening of the Lifestyle and Recreational Precinct at our newest Bli Bli community, Halcyon Lakeside. Ken Day and Sylvia Lewis could not contain their excitement when we chatted with them, as they had just received news of the move in date to their lakefront community home. Halcyon devotees, Ken and Sylvia, are moving from our waterfront community in Hope Island, Vision by Halcyon, on a quest to have their very own bowling green, which is exactly what they will get when they move to Halcyon Lakeside, with it’s championship sized bowling green.

It was the one-year celebration for the Rec Club at Halcyon Glades, which is the heart of this urban country community where over 40 activities and interest groups gather. Home owners celebrated well into the early hours and took advantage of the very short stroll home.

One of the binds that keep our communities together is our committed and one of a kind community manager’s; we chatted with Tracey Yeo, the always smiling and energetic Halcyon Glades community manager. Tracey has been an integral part of shaping this community by getting the special interest groups up and running at Halcyon Glades and loves to help newcomers settle into their new homes and meet other home owners in the community.

Security has always been a big factor for Halcyon and true to form we have remained at the forefront of innovation, with the introduction of Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) technology at Halcyon Greens. The advanced recognition technology will enable home owners to enter and exit the community’s front entry gate freely and without the use of gate clickers. This new technology will provide a high level of security and convenience.

If you haven’t heard! Halcyon was the largest team to enter the Sunshine Coast marathon, with a 350 people strong team. Not only did our home owners smash a number of records, with some of our home owners placing within their age category, a significant amount was raised, $10,343 in fact and was donated to a very worthy cause in Ronald McDonald House Charities. Well done to all of our home owners who participated, life really does begin at Halcyon!

Just one last thing… are you on Facebook? If you are, you may have seen that we have just launched our Facebook page, which has been a great way for our home owners and friends to stay connected with everything going on across all seven Halcyon communities. If you haven’t already, jump on and check it out at https://www.facebook.com/lifebeginsathalcyon/

So, grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy reading the Halcyon Days, we would love to hear from you, please phone us on 1800 626 488 or drop in to one of our communities to say hello…
