Life begins at Halcyon

Halcyon Corporate Newsletter

Can you believe we are half way through the year!

In this edition of the Halcyon Days it was mixed bag of new beginnings, celebrating milestones, hearing from happy Halcyon home owners and a whole lot more.

It was glamour all round at Halcyon Waters as we celebrated the over 50’s communities tenth anniversary. The Rec Club was transformed into a Las Vegas Casino and home owners hit the tables with mock chips to try their hand at Roulette, Texas Hold’em Poker and Blackjack. “another great Halcyon night” quoted by one of the home owners really does say it all.

Vision by Halcyon was awarded runner up status in the Urban Development Institute‚Ä®of Australia (UDIA) Awards for Excellence for Seniors’ Living, the national awards is the highest accolade awarded and it truly is an honour to be nominated, representing Queensland on the national stage. It’s no surprise that there are only three homes remaining in this award winning waterfront community, so time really is running out to live the dream at Vision by Halcyon.

Construction has commenced on Australia’s first over 50’s golf and residential community, Halcyon Greens. We are expecting to have approximately 70 home owners celebrating Christmas in their new homes this year. We chatted with one of the couples who said they were sold on the location and superior facilities that come with living on this green island with access to their very own Golf Course.
Did you know that the chances of an average golfer making a hole in one is approximately 12,500 to 1 or that a professional golfer making the same shot is a 2,500 to 1 chance… Well a Halcyon home owner scored the ultimate goal of a hole in one at the Gainsborough Greens Golf Course! Ed is still telling the story and rightly so, congratulations Ed!

Silver, gold and platinum for home owners as Halcyon continues to commit to remaining at the forefront of innovation for over 50’s living. Halcyon is building homes that achieve Silver certification by Livable Housing Australia, which essentially means all homes promote ageing in place and allow for easy access and manoeuvrability.

It really has been a year of milestones for our third over 50’s community on the Sunshine Coast. The first slab was laid for the 100th home and we welcomed our 100th home owner into the community, Len and Willy Chapman made the move to Halcyon Lakeside from Halcyon Parks, who were inspired to make the move by the abundance of greenery and the views of and beyond the two lakes, welcome celebrations were had at the famous Halcyon Happy Hour!

Excitement is mounting with construction of the Lifestyle and Recreational Precinct ahead of schedule, the amazing facilities are already taking shape with the Bowling Green completed and the roof top Tennis Court and Health and Wellness Centre almost complete, another perk is the stunning Sunset Bar where home owners will be able to enjoy a drink at sunset whilst taking in the views.

To round out the newsletter we chat with some home owners who have, since moving into a Halcyon community discovered and are subsequently now enjoying new hobbies, John Thompson has always wanted a Harley and his dream finally came true and now enjoys cruising the streets on his Fat Boy Lo to places like of Bribie, Maleny and Brisbane – stay safe John! And who knew Hebel could invoke such creative juices; well they certainly did for Ian Laurie who recently discovered a newfound skill by carving the Halcyon Kingfisher from Hebel.

Grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy reading the Halcyon Days, we would love to hear from you, please give phone us on 1800 626 488 or drop in to one of our communities to say hello…
