Halcyon helps others to build a new life

28 September 2018 | by Halcyon

In a first for Halcyon, we will deliver a new, purpose-built domestic violence shelter for women and their children on the Gold Coast next year.

The shelter will be owned by DVConnect, Queensland’s only state-wide telephone service offering a free crisis hotline for anyone affected by domestic or family violence.

Joint managing director Dr Bevan Geissmann said the project is something that is close to the hearts of everyone here at Halcyon.

“For me, having worked as a general practitioner for many years, I regularly saw people affected by domestic violence,” Bevan said.

“And as a lawyer practising in the Beenleigh area, my fellow ...

28 September 2018 | by Halcyon

Lola Davison has her granddaughter Sharni Hardcastle to thank for her new life at Halcyon Greens.

With Sharni moving to Pimpama and other family living at Helensvale, Lola saw Halcyon Greens as the perfect lifestyle solution; offering security, a strong sense of community, and better proximity to her loved ones.

Fast-forward several ...

Community Manager Donna talks about adapting to community living

17 August 2018 | by Halcyon

“Community living has a special feel to it. You have many opportunities to keep active and to try something new – perhaps join a pottery class, learn a new skill or get fitter.
The great part about my role as a community manager is seeing how much fun our home owners are having and seeing new friendships forming. Many have spent most of their lives working hard and now have the time to relax, go on holidays with new friends, and have the life they’ve dreamed of.  Halcyon certainly delivers that and more.
I can’t wait to live ...
