A new Bli Bli over 50s community is injecting new employment into the Sunshine Coast with developer Halcyon sourcing the bulk of its contractors from the local area.

The $100 million Halcyon Lakeside is now under construction and sees between 60-80 utes, 20-30 trucks, and upwards of 100 tradespeople on-site every day.

Halcyon Lakeside is the company’s third Sunshine Coast project, with completed communities at Caloundra and Bli Bli.

Halcyon Lakeside project Director Chris Carley said the company, which has been developing on the Sunshine Coast for 10 years, was committed to supporting local tradies.

The concept of a Hope Island town centre precinct, all but laid to rest by the global financial crisis appears set to become a reality.
