Recipe: Anzac Biscuits

1 cup (150g) plain flour
1 cup (80g) desiccated coconut
1 cup (90g) rolled oats
1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar
1/4 cup (55g) brown sugar
125g butter
2 tablespoon golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 180C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Place the flour, coconut, rolled oats and combined sugar in a large bowl and stir with a wooden spoon to combine.

Shave for a cure

A group of 90 home owners at Bli Bli over 50’s community Halcyon Landing have come together to raise money and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation.

A third of the community signed up to participate in the World’s Greatest Shave last Friday, and either shaved or coloured their hair.

Home owners raised more than $20,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation, in a cause close to their hearts, some being personally touched by the disease.

It was the third time Halcyon Landing community manager Donna Osborne lost her locks as part of The World’s Greatest Shave.

Hope Island’s Vision by Halcyon residents are reveling in the waterfront community’s newly opened Leisure Club.

Arriving at Halcyon a week before the club opened in March, Chris Podmore said it made her feel as if she was on holidays with its floating boathouse, marina and piazza.

There is also a covered pool and spa, gym, cinema, library, bar, dance floor and space for games and crafts.
