Active oasis makes a splash
Dani and John Simmons have kept a keen and close-eye on the progress of the latest stage of Halcyon Greens’ $15 million Recreation Precinct. The couple live right next to the six-acre recreational oasis– the largest lifestyle community facility of its kind in Australia.
In fact, the Simmons home is just 11m from the spectacular new resort pool – something their two young granddaughters, Summer, 4, and Indie, 2, are extremely excited about.
“They’ve been waiting and watching for the past year and asking us when they can go for a swim,” Dani laughed.
“The reason we bought the home is to be close to the pool; we can see it from our back doorstep.”
“The girls love swimming, so it’s something we can all do together.” John, who regularly plays pickleball on the community’s purpose-built courts, said they were making the most of living next to the facilities.
“The recreational offer played a significant role in our decision to purchase here,” he said. “For us it’s having the flexibility to use the facilities any time we like, which is a big part of why we love living here so much.”
The completion of the campus-style precinct’s second stage delivers the resort pool and a sunken firepit along with a heated 25m indoor pool, spa, fitness centre, Recreation Club, kitchen, bar, dance studio, hair salon, beauty treatment rooms, bocce court and lush landscaping.
A glass-encased hallway links the Recreation Club to The Pavilion which opens to eight floodlit pickleball courts, a floodlit tennis court and a floodlit championship-size bowling green. The Pavilion also offers barbecue facilities, kitchenette, function space and billiards area.
Homeowners don’t have long to wait for the remaining facilities with The Lodge expected to be completed in April 2020. The Lodge features a 40-seat Gold Class-style cinema, library, fireplace, kitchen and bar, small stage and a private lounge area.
Halcyon Joint Managing Director Dr Bevan Geissmann said the precinct was a “bag of dreams”
for people wanting to live an active and engaged lifestyle. “It was a bold move to do something on this scale and that’s why we have staged its delivery,” he said.
“The extent and calibre of the lifestyle choices offered continues to ignite buyer interest and Halcyon Greens is the fastest selling lifestyle community in Australia, with more than 200 homes sold. “We’re thrilled that our vision for the over 50s lifestyle is meeting the high expectations of buyers and our homeowners.”
Homeowners also have direct access to the adjoining 18-hole championship Gainsborough Greens Golf Course and clubhouse. Halcyon Greens will have more than 500 homes on completion.
