DISCERNING over 50s have jumped on the Sunshine Coast property boom with more than 100 homes at Buderim’s only lifestyle community B by Halcyon sold, topping $65 million since it was launched 12 months ago.

B by Halcyon’s Project Director Chris Carley said around one-third of the planned community had been sold since the community was launched on 29th February last year.

“The response we have had from local buyers and from those coming from Brisbane and interstate has created great momentum for the project and there has been a lot of interest for the next stages,” Chris said.

He said there was strong buyer turnout today for the launch of Stage 2, the Canopy Release, with 21 homes being snapped up this week.

Channel 7 News Sunshine Coast came to cover the buyer event for their nightly bulletin. Watch the story here.

Homebuyer Susan Burgess was interviewed for the news segment and said: "Everyone is very friendly and everyone is in the same boat and I think that is the beauty of coming in at this stage."

Chris told buyers at the event that Stage 2, is called the Canopy Release because the sites are tiered up to a beautiful green canopy of old forest growth and established mature trees.

“It really is quite special as many of the sites are larger and there is a good selection of elevated sites with a north-south alignment, gently rising up Buderim Hill," Chris said.

He said the next release, the Daintree Release, would feature eight two-storey homes all with lifts which have been architect designed to have a four-car garage, or two-car with a media room on the ground floor.

“Progress on the community has been positive with 50 homeowners having moved in and enjoying their next chapter,” he said.

“With the recent opening of our entertainment and games room called The Bunker, which has an About Golf Simulator lounge, bar, pool table and games, we are well on track with the rest of the Health and Wellness Precinct to be delivered in May this year.”

Homes in the Canopy Release start from $639,000 up to $939,000.
