Halcyon Greens has unveiled the first stage of its spectacular $20 million Recreational Precinct setting the benchmark for lifestyle communities in Australia.

The Pavilion plays host to the largest pickleball facility in Australia, a sport that is taking homeowners by storm. Complete with eight floodlit pickleball courts, the five-star facility features a floodlit championship sized bowling green, floodlit tennis court, BBQ facilities, kitchenette and function space for homeowners to enjoy a game of billiards or socialise after a game on the courts.

Halcyon joint-managing director Dr Bevan Geissmann said Halcyon was thrilled to deliver the first phase of a precinct that will raise the bar in recreational facilities for the modern senior. “As with all of our communities, our focus is on providing a lifestyle that promotes active living,” Dr Geissmann said.

“Our vision has been to create facilities that set the benchmark, meeting the needs of the modern senior and creating a centrepiece for what is a fantastic, established community. “With our pickleball and tennis courts all floodlit, as well as our bowling green, homeowners have the freedom to enjoy their favourite sport at any time of the day in an idyllic surround within their community.”

Stage two of the $20 million Recreational Facility will include the resort pool and Leisure Club and is expected to be completed mid this year with final facilities to be unveiled early next year (2020).

“In terms of leading an active and social life, our homeowners really will have everything at their doorstep,” said Dr Geissmann

Once completed, the Halcyon Greens Recreation Precinct will include a gold class-style cinema, dance studio, massage room, games room, craft room, herb and vegetable garden and two pools in addition to the Pavilion. John and Dani Simmons of Halcyon Greens are among the homeowners who have been quick to put the new facilities to good use and are eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

Mr Simmons said the new pickleball courts have fast become his favourite. “I play pickleball every Wednesday night and I also play lawn bowls socially, so it’s great to have all of this right on our doorstep,” Mr Simmons said.

“Knowing what recreational facilities would feature at Halcyon Greens played a significant part in our decision to purchase here, so we’re excited to see it all coming together. “We’re particularly looking forward to the pool which will eventually be built right on the corner from our house.

“For us, it’s having the flexibility to use the facilities any time we like, which is a big part of why we love living here so much.” “We’ve been really impressed with the facilities so far and can’t wait to see the overall recreation precinct when it’s finished,” he said.
