Halcyon Greens is the ‘Fountain of Youth’
Inspired by the country clubs of Florida, Halcyon Greens is Australia’s biggest lifestyle and it is only getting bigger in 2020 with the completion of The Lodge – the final piece in the $20 million Recreation and Leisure Precinct.
The Gold Coast’s 7 News recently aired a special report on the community, based at Pimpama, which highlighted some of the amazing activities on offer.
Halcyon Greens’ homeowner Peter Fahey was interviewed for the segment and said “there’s something to do every day, you don’t wither on the vine.”
“It’s the fountain of youth here, it’s a place where people my age can come along and cut years off their life,” he said.
According to the segment, the facilities are the finest in Australia for over 50s lifestyle community living and has 22 different functional areas hosting 40 different community groups and interests.
Channel 7 reporter Holly Fallon said Halcyon communities were “the new and popular way to retire, to keep fit and feel a sense of community.”
She described Greens’ as an Island style retreat complete with magnesium lap pools, spa and treatment rooms, dance studio, resort pool, pickleball and tennis courts, lawn bowls and bocce to keep active.
The Lodge was completed in April and has a number of areas for people to relax and socialise including a 40 seat Gold Class style cinema with six metre screen, leather reclining chairs with refrigerated cup holders. Homeowners enjoy their own private dining room, library, European inspired sala, full bar and kitchen with a lounge area with a travertine fireplace.
Halcyon Greens Project Director Glenn Nugent said the community had been a source of security and comfort to homeowners, especially during the last few months of COVID-19.
“Having your neighbours and a support network around has been fantastic for a lot of people,” he said.
Mr Nugent said Stage 4 of the community was currently being constructed with a number of homes available to people looking to “right-size” to Halcyon Greens.
“We’ve continued to build during the last few months as we take a measured approach to construction,” he said.
Homes start from $485,000.
